    What is Irish Empire?

    Irish Empire is a cultural movement based around a social network. Our goal is to unity the 80 million Irish Diaspora from around the world.

    How do I become a member?

    In order to register, simply go to https://irishempire.org/ and sign up for free. If you don’t hear from us, check your spam folder. Should you require additional help contact support@irishempire.org

    Why do I need to include my disclose my personal details?

    Choosing your interests helps us to personalize your Irish Empire experience. By telling us about you allows us to match you up with relevant Groups and expand your network. The more you give back, the more you get out of the Irish Empire.

    How do I sign up?

    Sign up at https://irishempire.org/ using email, Google or Facebook to log in. Membership is FREE. If you forget your Password go to Login at the top of the page and click on the link for Lost Password.

  3. IRISHNESS TEST

    What is the Irishness Test?

    When you first sign-up, you automatically take the Irishness Test which is made up of 9 questions. The purpose of the Irishness Test is to see how Irish you are. It’s fun and not to be taken seriously. Indeed, if you take it seriously you have automatically failed and we might revoke your Citizenship!

    What points system is used for the Irishness Test?

    There are 9 questions in total. Each question is categorized under a segment of your personalized Social Wheel. The 9 Social Wheel segments are: News & Politics, Culture, Music & Dance, Travel & Roots, Business, Lifestyle, Social, Sport and Dating.

    A question can be right or wrong, or in-between! When you answer a question correctly you get a maximum of 4 points. Given that there are 9 questions in total, 4 points translates to 11% of your total Social Wheel. If you answer all questions correctly you would receive 99%. If you did score 99% then each of the 9 segments of your Social Wheel would be divided equally.

    Each question scores has the following effect on your Social Wheel:

    What’s new?

    Irish people are typically sociable. Our aim is to get the 80 million Irish people around the world talking. The basis of our social network is that you follow other Citizens. Engage. Participate. You are encouraged to take the initiative and converse with others

    What are Groups?

    There are three types of Groups: (i) Hobby Groups, (ii) Work Groups and (iii) Irish origins. We encourage every Citizen to join at least one of each of these Groups. Joining a Group helps you to stay current about things you love and is a great way to connect and socialize.

    What is my Social Wheel?

    Your Social Wheel is a visual pie-chart that reflects your voting preferences as well as what you click on that you Like.

    When you first signed-up, you took the Irishness Test. This Test created your first Social Wheel. Thereafter, it’s your active voting participation and things you click on to Like that constantly changes your dynamic Social Wheel.

    What information about my profile is seen?

    By default, your Irish Empire profile displays your name, profile picture and location. You control your profile preferences and default settings. Your profile also contains a timeline where you can showcase what you’re up to.

    What is a Social Wheel?

    Every User has a Social Wheel that is created by default after taking the Irishness Test on signing-up.

    Your Social Wheel is a living thing that constantly changes according to your behavior. The Social Wheel is made up of 9 segments: News & Politics, Culture, Music & Dance, Travel & Roots, Business, Lifestyle, Social, Sport and Dating.

    What changes my Social Wheel?

    Your Social Wheel is dynamic and constantly changes if you vote, comment, share something or watch a TV show. All these actions are tagged according to one or more of the 9 category segments and they influence your Social Wheel. Actions carry different weights. The weighting impacts on how much that particular segment of the Social Wheel increases.

    The following actions you take impact on your Social Wheel and determine how much that particular segment of your Social Wheel increases.

    Compare & Contrast what?

    You can compare and contrast your behavior with other Citizens on the Social Wheel page. Click on Same Voting or Same Likes to see others who voted on the same questions or liked the same things as you. By clicking on the Same Social Wheel you can see others who’s Social Wheel has the same biggest segment as you.

    What can I vote on?

    Citizens are entitled to one vote on all live polls. To see live votes and the results of polls go to the Vote page.

    What happens when I vote?

    Your vote is integrated into your live Social Wheel that is a visual pie-chart. The Social Wheel is made up of 9 segments: News & Politics, Culture, Music & Dance, Travel & Roots, Business, Lifestyle, Social, Sport and Dating.

    Every voting question is tagged according to one or more of the Social Wheel segments. When you vote, the segment(s) of your Social Wheel grow instantly.
